BROTHER SUN, SISTER MOON
A film by Franco Zeffirelli.

The film focuses on the early years of Francis of Assisi, who sought communion with the natural world by renouncing his family’s riches to seek his own destiny unencumbered by material possessions. Francis was, in a sense, history’s first “drop out”: he left a life of comfort to seek a spiritual union with the world Brother Sun; Sister Moon is an uncommonly rewarding and meaningful film experience.

RUMI: POET OF THE HEART
A film by Hayden Reiss.

Jelaluddin Rumi, the mysterious 13th Century Persian scholar and Sufi mystic, left writings that strongly resonate in the modern world 700 years after his death. This beautifully crafted one-hour documentary tells Rumi's surprising story--a story that includes tolerance, the suspicious disappearance of a friend, history about the Persian Empire, the founding of the Whirling Dervishes, and how Rumi celebrated the sacred in everyday existence.
