This seven-month long weekly series sought to further engagement with the lives and teachings of the sages of modern India, especially Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Swami Vivekananda, Ramana Maharshi, Sri Aurobindo, Mahatma Gandhi and H.H. The Dalai Lama. Conducted by late Prof. Ramchandra Gandhi, the workshop included talks, discussions, book readings, story-telling and analysis.
India’s and humanity’s ongoing struggle for comprehending the true meaning of Svaraj provided the context for interactions at the workshop. Attempts were made to understand issues of War and Peace against the backdrop of The Mahabharata, with the aid of the philosophical tradition of Advaita Vedanta.
