India’s Quest is a series of seven films:
One Weapon by Sanjay Kak, set in Punjab and Tamil Nadu, is a cinematic articulation of the spirit of the world’s largest democracy.
Faith by Safina Oberoi, looks at the lives of the Tibetan community in the settlement at Majnu Ka Tila in Delhi, and their interface with the local India community, its many facets, traditions and religions.
For Maya by Vasudha Joshi, explores the changes in the lives of women over three generations. It examines the evolving physical and psychological spaces that women occupy.
Fish Tales by Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam explores developmental and environmental issues by focusing on traditional fishery in Kerala.
A Season Outside by Amar Kanwar, conveys the essential concepts of nonviolence as a philosophy and a way of life.
In the Eye of the Fish by Raqs Media Collective, Monica Narula, Shuddhabrata Sengupta and Jeebesh Bagchi, addresses the complexities of education. It seeks to encourage an intellectual curiosity that has the power to effect profound changes in both personality and environment.

One Day with Rinpoche by Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam, is the story of 20-year old Phara Khentrul Rinpoche – an insight into what it means to be a young incarnate Lama living in exile at the dawn of the 21st Century.
Art in Exile by Nidhi Tuli and Ashraf Abbas, is a film about the Tibetans living in exile in India and the role their art is playing in keeping their identity and the larger ‘Free
Tibet’ Movement alive. The film offers glimpses into an alternate Tibetan revolution.
Democracy in Exile by Tashi Wangchuk and Tsultrim Dorjee, explores the debate among the general mass of Tibetan people in India about the two possible major goals for future Tibet – ‘Genuine Autonomy’, a middle path proposed by the Tibetan Exile Government and an ‘Independent Tibet’ as proposed by the Tibetan Youth Congress.
Spot the Difference by Vivek Mohan, documents the everyday lives of two families living in India – one Chinese and the other Tibetan, in an attempt to depict that economic well-being and peaceful coexistence are more important than political and religious differences.
Diaspora in Refuge by Harshwardhan Varma, looks at the Tibetan community that has lived in exile for more than forty years in India and the emotions, traumas, successes and failures that form a part of their everyday lives.
Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts by Nidhi Tuli and Ashraf Abbas (Under Production) is based on TIPA, Mcleodganj, which is one of the oldest performing arts institute outside of Tibet. Each person, whether student or teacher, has a story to tell, and each story is full of struggle, pathos, spirituality and hope – hope to keep Tibet alive. Who says freedom struggle are all about guns and revolution?
