Synopsis
Here, His Holiness The Dalai Lama gives introductory teachings on the Medicine Buddha. These are followed by a brief empowerment ceremony representing a transmission from His Holiness of a sadhana or practice that we might follow.
The practice of Medicine Buddha, the Supreme Healer (or Sangye Menla in Tibetan) is not only a very powerful method for healing and increasing healing powers both for oneself and others, but also for overcoming the inner sickness of attachment, hatred, and ignorance. To meditate on the Medicine Buddha can help decrease physical and mental illness and suffering. The practice is often done to request the blessing and help of the Medicine Buddha to heal disease, to clear obstacles to health, to have successful surgery, to help those who have already passed away, as well as to overcome obstacles to the achievement of temporary and ultimate goals and happiness, not only for oneself and loved ones but for all sentient beings.
Synopsis
Here, His Holiness The Dalai Lama conducts a brief empowerment ceremony representing the transmission of a set of practices, a regular sadhana that we develop devoted to the White Manjushree and receive his blessings
Manjushree is the embodiment of the wisdom of all the Buddhas' and is therefore also known as the "Buddha of Wisdom". The White Manjushree is one of the many aspects of the Buddha of Wisdom. Receiving blessing from Him and doing practices related to Him is particularly effective in developing and enhancing one's wisdom and memory. Having developed one's wisdom, one will also be able to distinguish between the virtues and non-virtues, thereby renouncing the negativities, which cause all our unwanted suffering and miseries, and practicing only the good, which will bring about enduring happiness.

The Awakening Mind of Nagarjuna
Synopsis
His Holiness encourages us to learn from Buddhism – as from all other religions – and practice those principles that appeal to us without necessarily becoming Buddhists. The response to this introduction to a core Buddhist teaching, explained simply but in depth was as much through the words of a great master as in every action and gesture of His Holiness' warmhearted and compassionate presence. Of course there is no substitute for being in the presence of a great master. For those unable to attend His teachings, the DVDs offer the next best option to being there.
These DVDs encapsulate a three-day teaching by His Holiness in New Delhi, when His Holiness gently, joyously and skillfully guided a rapt audience across the Four Noble Truths from Nagarjuna's perspective drawing on his Commentary of the Awakening mind . The text was chosen by His Holiness because he believes that at the core of the Mahayana Buddhist Teachings lie the imperative to understand dependent arising ( Pratitya samutpada ) in general, and emptiness ( Shunyata ) in particular through the Madhyamika or The Middle way path of Nagarjuna.
